He joined one of Memphis' largest media groups to produce the show . Listeners tuned in every Saturday at 11am from November 2021 to May 2022 to hear updates on all things Memphis and hear from special guest. Equitable transportation is priority for Jerred and was a highlight of his campaign. In a 2019 town hall with Mayor Lee Harris and school board members, Jerred raised the question for the possibility of giving students free MATA passes to come and go to school/libraries/etc. The school board eventually brought up the issue at a meeting and approved this idea. Restoring bus routes into communities that need it most is also a priority. In this photo, Jerred joins the MBRU and rides the Jackson Ave route; on the right, founder of the MBRU and friend of Jerred's: Mother Gloria King. Mother King organized axioms in the 60s in Memphis and is still a vocal advocate today. In 1989, she participated in a 255+ mile walk from Roanoke, VA to Washington DC in support of the plight of the homeless, affordability, safe, decent housing and jobs. I have over 55,000+ volunteer hours.

Jerred Wins "The Peoples Choice Award" & Gives Back to Elton John AIDS Foundation
Thanks to Memphis advocate Jerred Price, The Elton John AIDS Foundation is the recipient of the Focus Awards 2020 People’s Choice prize. The $2500 cash donation and a $5000 advertising spend were awarded by Price to the group to support local work in the Mid-South.
“Having a grant that allows for marketing and cash is just fabulous because most funding dollars awarded are restricted to programmatic items. We [The Elton John AIDS Foundation] are excited to have the opportunity to showcase the work in Memphis and help promote effective change in HIV access to care.”
The Elton John AIDS Foundation then awarded the prize to Friends for Life (FFL). The funds and ads will be used to support the important collaborative work that FFL does in the community. The funds will be used to support crucial HIV prevention services in Shelby County, Tenn.

Jerred Leads Effort to Make State History: The State's First Rainbow Crosswalk
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are key passions of Jerred's. In November 2019, Jerred led a group of volunteers and leaders to install the State of Tennessee's first rainbow crosswalk to recognize and celebrate the LGBTQ+ population of Memphis and Tennessee. Installed in Cooper-Young, the crosswalk is a symbol of inclusion for the community. The Cooper-Young community is said to be the highest concentration of same-sex households in the southeast USA. Follow the crosswalk on Facebook at "Memphis Rainbow Crosswalk" or on Instagram at @rainbowcrosswalkmem | Special thanks to Sheree Stubblefield, City of Memphis, & Cooper Young Community Association and to the donors & volunteers. Shoulder to shoulder with people from the community, they got dirty, got the job done, and got it cleaned up!

Lifting Up The Community's Voice: Save The Amphitheater Event
In 2020, Jerred, while serving as President of Downtown Neighborhood Association, helped form a committee to bring the beloved amphitheater to the forefront of people's minds and heart. The DNA hosted a "Community Engagement Event" at Carolina Watershed to gather feedback from the community as to what they want to see done at the Mud Island Amphitheater and priorities for the community. Through his work, he lifted the voice of many to say "it's time to invest in this landmark; Memphis is music, and music is Memphis". The voice was lifted and heard at City Hall where less than a year later, Mayor Strickland allocated $4mil towards it's renovation. In this photo, Jerred is gifted a T-shirt from residents of Smokey City in North Memphis. Jerred had strong support from this community during his 2019 city council race. "I knocked on a lot of doors in this community; many of them looked at me with disbelief when they saw someone running for office coming to their door asking for their vote. They felt as if for years, their voice had been forgotten. It's time to lift up communities that have been left in the dark" says Jerred.
DNA's "Fight The Blight" Initiative Makes Front Page News
DNA's "Fight The Blight" Initiative Makes Front Page News
The front page of the Commercial Appeal reports "How the 'stars aligned' to help clean up and beautify downtown Memphis during the pandemic"
"Help as many as you can as much as you can for as long as you can.”
That credo is one Jerred Price holds near and dear. And it’s the driving force behind an initiative he helped bring to fruition at a time when his community needed it most. A time when downtown Memphis could use some sprucing up and a time when a sizable portion of the downtown workforce was suddenly without jobs.
That’s when Price introduced the non-profit “Fight The Blight” campaign – an effort to combat illegal dumping and rid the downtown area of overgrown and derelict properties. Launched shortly after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States, Price partnered with Two Broke Bartenders – a band of approximately 24 suddenly-in-need-of-work service industry employees specializing in a wide range of home services.

By the numbers, restaurants accounted for less than 5% of the spread of covid, yet faced some of the harshest restrictions in the city. Contacted by restaurant and service industry leaders such as Tommy Peters (Owner of Lafayette's, BB Kings, Itta Bena), Julien Salley (GM of Lafayette's), Daniel Masters (Owner of Pontotoc & Silly Goose), and Shawn Danko (Owner of Kooky-Kanuk), Jerred and service industry leaders planned a protest to help "Save Our Restaurants" and voice their stance on strict restrictions against the service industry. Welcoming Elton John to Memphis in 2019!
Jerred has had the pleasure of meeting and becoming friends with his idol, Elton John, and the two share similar passions for helping others and talking about music. In 2019, he visited him in Las Vegas and pointed out that Elton wasn't scheduled for Memphis, but rather was coming to Nashville. Shortly after, Jerred was excited to see Elton John had announced Memphis, TN as one of his many stops on his final tour, "Farewell Yellow Brick Road". Jerred was honored to be able to welcome him back to Memphis and the two caught up backstage. Jerred says Elton's humanitarian heart and caring for others makes him one of the best role models a man could ask for... as well as being a kick*** musician.
